WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool with the help of The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. you can try these out on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that level will cost less even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can make use of Flightstones that are a general upgrade currency that is available to all players, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades on specific levels of the item. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
